Confirmed: Rush Limbaugh Told Trayvon Martin To Wear The Hoodie

While guest-hosting for Martin Bashir on MSNBC, Karen Finney decided to link the Trayvon Martin shooting to Rush Limbaugh.

Now, you might think Ms. Finney was irresponsibly exploiting the death of a teenager for political gain. Or you might think that she is almost giddy about the fact that a young African-American was shot and killed so that she could use the incident to condemn an ideological opponent who had absolutely nothing to do with the situation. Or you might think that she was borrowing a page from the Markos "Misson Accomplished, Sarah Palin" Moulitsas playbook, which led to him being condemned by people from both sides of the political fence. You may even think that she's a total nimwit who made an invalid comparison between a national tragedy and talk radio commentary.

But you would be totally wrong.

Likewise, Geraldo Rivera on Fox News Channel, decided to blame the shooting of Trayvon Martin, not on Rush, but on the fact that Martin was wearing a hoodie. When speaking to Bill O'Reilly, Geraldo doubled down on his hoodie comments in spite of the fact that his son told him that he is now ashamed of him for making those comments.

Again: Geraldo receives almost universal derision. And again: The conventional wisdom is wrong.

After much painstaking research, we have determined that Karen Finney and Geraldo Rivera are both right: Trayvon Martin was told to wear a hoodie by Rush Limbaugh.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, Sanford Detective Gerald Bowels said: "We have phone records. It was clear that Trayvon Martin received a phone call from EIB Studios just before he left to pick up the Skittles. We think he was told to wear a hoodie."

Several of Martin's friends have since confirmed that he was not known to wear a hoodie when buying Skittles. "The only person who could ever talk Trayvon into wearing a hoodie is Rush Limbaugh," said one friend. "I really don't think he would wear a hoodie for anyone else."

Sometimes the truth is painful. Sometimes the truth is ugly. But as conservatives, we must accept it no matter how it offends us.

It really is Rush's fault.
